We believe...

Jesus has come to set us free! Jesus is the one and only God who wrapped Himself in flesh to come and pay the ultimate price (Heb. 10:5). A great breach of relationship happened in the Garden of Eden, many hundreds of years ago, when our fore-father and mother disobeyed God. God told them that on that day that they take of the fruit of one particular tree in the garden, they will surely die (Gen. 2:17). That day, Adam's and Eve's spirits died. It was that incident that thrust all of humanity to being born into an existence where those born to Adam and Eve would bear that same weight of sin. This was not God's original design nor intent. But without a choice to love, serve, and obey God out of one's own will, humankind would have behaved strictly out of "programming," God wanted individuals to make their own choice. But choice brings consequence, and consequence can be positive or negative.

Because God is a loving Creator, He provided a way out for humans through the sacrifice of Himself in our stead, for our sin, if we would but accept it and walk in it. As in John 3:16, the Bible says: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." This IS the one way to be saved. Jesus said it Himself, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no one comes to the Father but through Him" (John 14:6).

Jesus was born of a virgin (Matt. 1:23, Luke 1:27), Mary, as the prophets foretold (Isa. 7:14). He was literally God, cloaked in a human body , who walked the earth in the form of a man, Jesus Christ. Jesus is sinless, faultless, and He is the Truth! Jesus was in very nature, God; He had no alter ego. He provided a way for humanity to be healed of the breach in relationship with God, their Creator, which had resulted from the sin brought upon us all by our ancestors.

Jesus proved He was God by all that He said and did while walking the earth (John 17:11, 21). The prophecies from of old were fulfilled in Him, who showed that He was the promised Messiah. Jesus gave His life as that sacrifice, to suffer death on a Roman cross, but then to rise in victory three days later. While He hung on that cross, He said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do," and then He gave up His Spirit... He gave up His Spirit... no one took His life, rather, He gave it as a ransom for all (Eph. 5:2). He knew He could have called on legions of angels if He wanted to (Matt. 26:53). But He came with a purpose of redeeming mankind, whom He loved. His resurrection was witnessed by His appearing to over 500 people after His death and resurrection (I Cor. 15:3-6) . These events took place to repair what humanity had done. What a responsible, loving God we worship!

Later, after Jesus ascended to heaven, He sent the promised Holy Spirit that He poured out on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2). Now, the very Spirit of God could indwell every person who puts their hope and trust in what Jesus did. They could be filled with Him, and His spirit is Life.

Jesus! The Head of the church, which is not the brick and mortar "church buildings" that we see on street corners, but rather, the church, as the individual and corporate combination of all those who love Jesus and in whom Jesus dwells by His Holy Spirit. People who walk by Jesus' Spirit will walk like Jesus walked, because Jesus is the Way! They are not longer bound by sin and darkness but set free to help others to be set free.

In Him we have fellowship, one with another, and we become one with the Godhead, just as Jesus was one; one in heart, mind, and spirit. He did only what He saw the Father doing and He contained the Holy Spirit of God in his being.

The scripture is clear as to how we can know if we truly know Him. In I John 2:3-6 it says, "We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did."

We anticipate Jesus' return to the earth when He will set up his Kingdom on earth for a period of 1,000 years. Then the last battle with ensue when Satan and his dark kingdom will be destroyed for eternity. God will create a new heavens and a new earth, one no longer under the weight of sin. The scripture says that this old world is wearing out like a well-worn garment... (Isaiah 51:6, Ps. 102:25-27) some call it global warming or climate change, we think it is more accurately called the effect of sin that entered God's perfect world at the invitation of mankind (Rom 8:22).

Our future does not end when we are laid in the grave... Eternity grants one of two places that we will go to live eternally after death. Accept the payment He has made on your behalf and follow Jesus into eternity. It is a place called heaven that awaits you. Reject the payment that Jesus has made on your behalf, and follow your own devices into eternity, a place called hell, that awaits you. Jesus paid the price so that no one would go there. What will you do?
